Freelance Finance

Sounds like a big duh, but most independent workers don’t get into full-time freelancing for the money. They do it because they are following a dream, perhaps, or because they find the freedom exhilarating. But they QUIT because of the money, or, more precisely, the lack of it. (No self-employed person ever returned to a day job because they hated making their own hours and being independent.) That’s why I think it’s important to talk about and learn as much as you can about money, even at an early stage in your career. You must become deft at pulling in work, getting paid, and managing that money so you don’t ever have to throw in the towel and seek a full-time job again.
